Who Runs Precision Watches
According to the store's history page, Michael Murat, who trained as a watchmaker in Kyiv, and his son Gary opened Precision Watch and Clock Repair in 1991 in a 500-square-foot workshop. Roman Murat, the third generation, joined in 2001. The business opened its first shop in 2007, moved to a larger store at Valley Square in 2011, and opened its current flagship on Bethlehem Pike in 2024, with an in-house service workshop. The Better Business Bureau lists Roman Murat as the owner.
Is It an Authorised Dealer?
Yes, for Rolex. Rolex's own dealer locator lists Precision Watches in Lower Gwynedd as an official Rolex retailer offering new Rolex watches, Rolex Certified Pre-Owned and Rolex servicing. According to the store, the Rolex relationship began in 2014.
The store also says it is an authorised retailer for more than eight brands, including Tudor, Cartier, Omega, Longines, Hamilton and Bell & Ross. If you are buying one of those brands, you can confirm the listing on the brand's own retailer locator, which also confirms that the manufacturer's warranty will apply.
What It Offers
- New watches from its authorised brands.
- Pre-owned watches, including Rolex Certified Pre-Owned, which comes with Rolex's own two-year guarantee on the pre-owned watch.
- Buying and trade-ins: you submit photos online for an offer, ship with a free insured overnight label, and are paid by bank transfer, PayPal or check, usually on the day the watch arrives. If you decline the final offer, the store says it returns the watch free of charge. The store's page gives the shipping insurance both as "up to $100,000" and as full value, so confirm the cover before sending an expensive watch.
- Repairs and servicing, including overhauls, polishing, vintage repair and water resistance testing.
What Customers Say
Trustpilot: 4.4 out of 5 from 147 reviews, 94% of them five star, though only 14 were posted in the past 12 months. The store invites customers to review and, according to Trustpilot, has not replied to negative reviews. Trustpilot does not verify review content.
BBB: A+ rating and accredited since 13 March 2024. One complaint was filed in the past three years and none in the past 12 months.
Google: the store's website shows a 4.9 rating from 908 Google reviews. We could not check this figure independently. Its Yelp listing has 32 reviews.
Common praise: knowledgeable, friendly staff (several reviewers name individual sales associates), a well-designed new showroom, a clasp repair done at no charge (June 2026), and pre-owned prices that one reviewer found better than online (November 2025).
Common complaints (about 4% of Trustpilot reviews are one or two star):
- A trade-in offer for an Omega that the reviewer felt was far too low (July 2026).
- A repair bill of $385 for what the reviewer called a simple fix (February 2026).
- A watch that arrived with a broken band and a difficult refund (July 2025).
Low trade-in offers are a common complaint about any dealer, because a dealer has to resell the watch at a profit. Getting quotes from two or three buyers is the best way to judge an offer.
Is Precision Watches Worth Using?
Precision Watches is an established, authorised dealer with a long history and strong ratings. For buying a new Rolex, Tudor or one of its other brands, being on the brand's official list means the full manufacturer warranty applies. For selling, its process is clear and the store says it pays the same day, but as with any dealer, compare offers before you accept one. For repairs, ask for a written estimate first.
How to Check Any Watch Dealer
- Look the store up on each brand's official retailer locator.
- Check the BBB profile and read the complaints, not just the rating.
- Read recent one-star and two-star reviews on more than one site.
- For selling, get at least two other quotes and confirm the shipping insurance in writing.
- For servicing, ask for an estimate and the warranty on the work.
